PAEEP distributes Qurbani meat to Palestinian families in Gaza Strip

During Eid al-Adha, Muslims sacrifice a sheep or a calf and distribute the meat to those who ordinarily cannot afford to buy meat. Poor families in Gaza Strip cannot sacrifice because of the cost implications so they await Muslims who sacrificed to send them a pack of meat which will make their children happy and enable them to celebrate Eid al-Adha.

On Eid al-Adha 1436 AH,  PAEEP were able to distributed Qurbani meat to more than 500 Palestinians families by Muslim Aid fund. This distribution was aimed at poor families and low-income earners in villages and marginalized communities in the north and Gaza governorate of the Gaza Strip.

The process for selecting the benefiting families has taken into consideration such criteria as poverty levels and the number of family members. PAEEP was especially careful to lend a helping hand to female-headed households, families living in remote and marginalized areas.

Abo Baker, a beneficiary of Qurbani Project , is a father of 4 handicap sons living in the beach refugee camp in west Gaza of Gaza Strip. “the meat distributed by PAEEP and Muslim Aid has brought joy to my heart and the hearts of my sons on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha” he said.

The distribution of Qurbani meat, which is part of the seasonal projects implemented by Muslim Aid on an annual basis for the benefit of the Palestinian people, aims to strengthen the spirit of social solidarity and to promote a healthy, balanced diet through the provision of animal protein for the thousands of poor families, especially in the face of recent hikes in living costs which has deprived many of them the opportunity to buy fresh meat.
